Punarvasu is the 7th Nakshatra/Star of Zodiac also known as “The Star of Renewal’’. The word Punarvasu is derived from Puna+Vasu, Punah means ‘repeat again and again’ & Vasu means ‘habitation’,thus becoming vasu again is the derived meaning. This nakshatra has the divine ability to bring spiritual light into darkness. It reflects strong moral values, generosity, purity, truthfulness etc. Punarvasu relates to “Vastuva Prapana Shakti”–“the ability to gain wealth or abundance”. To start a fresh after having once broken off, to start a new life, to come back from a distant land – all these are signified by Punarvasu.

The main symbol of this nakshatra is a bow and a quiver of arrows”. Arrow which hits its target in Ardra, now returns back. Its symbolism has wind,which carries clouds above and rain,which revitalizes plants below.Just like rain, Punarvasu brings renewal. Jupiter is its ruling planetary lord.
